About the Artist
Liuxing Johnston is a cartoonist and illustrator based in New Jersey. Their work centers around the topics of death, grief, familial and romantic relationships, and coming of age within the context of transracial adoption and transgender identity.
They are currently working on an illustration series titled Aquel Verano, which explores a trans relationship blooming under the magnolia trees in Southeast Texas. The twelve part visual story will showcase at Chapter House cafe in South Philadelphia from April until July of 2026.
